Spent a bit of time mangling the code of the site today but it wasn’t all CSS hairpulling. Now there are some updates to the Cafe Voyeur project page that detail some of the process and results from that project during 2004. Yes, not really an update, more a case of posting old data into the new layout. And there are more updates to come including a few more tweaks of the site design.

Well we are getting the site ready for the initial stages of the next City Frequencies project, basically a bit of research into the complexities of what we want to do next. For this site though, it’s simply a matter of trying to get the Wordpress system to function the way we want it with static pages for the About, Audio and Video sections. These pages will largely remain the same with only new audio or video files added as the next project progresses.
Previous to this reshaping of the website, we had the Random Acts of Elevator Music posts being published to the index page. This worked perfectly for the duration of that project as we used the website as a means to inform the public, live, as to our location through updates via a mobile phone from inside one of the many elevators we performed in.
We will be adding more information about the previous City Frequencies projects over the next couple of weeks.

We’ve had a bit of a public hibernation over the last couple of chilly months while we conduct research into the next phase of City Frequencies. At the moment we are looking into developing a project for the 2008 Melbourne Fringe Festival that will involve environmental recordings and robotics but there won’t be any more info on this till the end of this year when a better concept has been outlined.
Otherwise, it’s now time for the great Electundra festival to get into motion for late 2007. We have been invited to perform again (our fourth year) and we might just use this as a chance to perform some of the remixed versions of the Cafe Voyeur tracks that we’ve been working on for inclusion in a 5.1 DVD. More on this in the next month or so.
Now that the Random Acts of Elevator Music project has wound down from it’s live performance component we will be rearranging this website to reflect the new directions that City Frequencies will be taking.

Theres a new audio track uploaded today, an oldie from the 2000 City Frequencies Project. The remixing continues with Cafe Voyeur and Random Acts of Elevator Music getting the treatment at our eastern studios with CD audio quality being the aim. More info on this as it progresses, hopefully to album release and distro. Meanwhile, in our city lab, the next possible project is being researched. The above photo offers a glimpse of one aspect but a proper press release will be made after the initial feasibility study has been completed in a few weeks.
