Upcoming gig

In the midst of some updates we also have a performance scheduled for this saturday 21st of November. We will be playing at the Electundra Audio-Visual Festival that takes place at Loop Bar, 23 Meyers Place in the CBD. If you happen to wander in at about 3.30 pm that saturday you will find us playing our live elevator set, recently played here in Melbourne and Sydney.

Press coverage

We are starting the process of documenting the 2009 performance and tour with this update of two Sydney newspaper articles that our publicist organised for us. These first two, from the Daily Telegraph and the MX, can be found under Random Acts of Elevator Music in the About section of this website, in pdf format for your reading pleasure. The unrelated photo is of two effects delay pedals and the Gakken synthesiser that made up part of our elevator music kit.

Channel 31 TV interview

After a couple of weeks of recovering from all the elevator madness we are now ready to start uploading some videos, photos and audio files to the website that document our recent adventures. First up is a grab of the Channel 31 interview we did on The Comic Box Fringe Festival special. We are trialing an embedded video player with this too, so go to the Video section and you should see the player ready to go. If this works well then all the other elevator videos will be converted to this Flash format too.

Live at the Glitch

Yes its an audience of talkers, our favourite for an ambient night, thanks Jane.

Escape From Chaos

Well its time to get the batteries charged again for tonights gig at Glitch Bar in St Georges Rd Nth Fitzroy. We are appearing at a night called Escape From Chaos, in the back room at 9pm, nice and mellow, whilst later on David Thrussell of Snog and Black Lung fame will be making all sorts of quality music of the kind you can dance to. Bring on the beats.

Hello Melbourne

A bit of a break for a couple of days while we rest and think upon fond memories of the last two weeks. And that we got charged excess baggage at Sydney airport for just 3 kilos over. Bastards. And theres a bit of damage to the gear from the flight. We do have a gig this friday at Glitch Bar in St Georges Rd, Nth Fitzroy with our performance due to start at 9pm. More info on this soon as well as some gigs at Loop Bar.

See ya later Sydney

After a last coffee or two and a wander around Chinatown its time to jump into a cab and head to the airport for a plane back to Melbourne. Its been an interesting week of elevators and gigs in this city and a good extension to the Random Acts of Elevator Music project. So thank you Sydney, we just might have to come back one day.

Noodle time

After a good set played to an appreciative audience at the Excelsior its time for some much needed food and as our elegant abode is situated near Chinatown ramen noodles is the dinner of choice. Following our set was Blastcorp who played some fantastic music. The last band of the night ran into technical difficulties in that their drummer was arrested by the police. But they played on. Rock and roll Sydney.

The stage is set

Yes its a proper stage with great sounding PA and even a foldback. The first act is ready to roll and the visual element seems to be the ubiquitous apple logo. We dont use such mainstream electronics, we use custom made sound gear. So bully for us.

Sunday Wreckovery

Time to get the gear packed and the batteries stowed as we are about to head down town to the Excelsior Hotel in Foveaux St, Surry Hills for our last gig in Sydney. We are due to perform at about 5pm with a whole heap of other great Clan Analogue acts and DJs.
